Our Story

A Studio Built on
Craft & Conviction

Inbuilt Atelier was founded on a simple belief: that fitted joinery should be designed with the same rigour as architecture, and built with the same care as fine furniture.

The Atelier

Designed in Double Bay.
Built to Last a Lifetime.

The word atelier describes a workshop where skilled craftspeople produce work of exceptional quality — where design rigour and material knowledge combine into something lasting. That is the standard we hold ourselves to at Inbuilt Atelier.

We design and build bespoke built-in wardrobes, walk-in wardrobes, and custom joinery for Sydney homes that demand more than a catalogue solution. Every piece begins with a conversation and ends with joinery that feels as though it has always been part of the architecture.

Our studio is in Double Bay. We draw on European manufacturing traditions and source hardware from the same suppliers that produce joinery for luxury residential projects across the continent.

What We Stand For

Our Guiding Principles

These are not aspirations. They are the commitments that shape every decision we make — from how we design to how we install.

I

Bespoke, Always

We do not offer pre-configured systems or catalogue wardrobes. Everything is drawn, specified, and built for your space and no other. That is what bespoke means — and it is the only way we work.

II

Material Integrity

We specify materials that perform well over time — panels that resist humidity, hardware that operates without force for decades, and finishes that age gracefully. We will not compromise this for cost.

III

Transparent Process

You will always know exactly where your project stands. We share drawings, samples, and schedules at every stage so there are no surprises. Our fixed-price quotes mean what they say.

IV

Considered Installation

Our own team installs every project — methodically, protectively, and to the same standard we hold the workshop to. We leave your home better than we found it.

V

Long-Term Thinking

We design joinery for the life of the building, not the life of a trend. Good joinery should still look right in thirty years.

VI

Relationships, Not Transactions

Most of our clients come back. Our reputation is built on doing what we say, treating your home with respect, and delivering work that prompts a referral rather than a complaint.

Our Philosophy

Where Craft Meets Conviction

Every piece of joinery we produce tells a story — of material integrity, of unhurried precision, and of a belief that the things we live with should be made to outlast us.

We do not build furniture. We build the architecture within architecture — the quiet, considered interiors that make a home feel resolved.

01

Tradition & Innovation

The skill and culture of expert hands, combined with precision machinery and modern design thinking. We produce joinery in tune with contemporary living — where efficiency defines the modernity of our approach, while remaining deeply rooted in traditional craftsmanship.

Each piece is treated with attention to detail that transforms raw material into something with presence. Precision and meticulousness are not methods — they are values.

02

Material Conscience

We specify materials that perform well over decades — panels that resist humidity, hardware that operates without force for the life of the building, and finishes that age gracefully. We source sustainably-managed timber and European-certified panels because quality and responsibility are not separate conversations.

From low-emission lacquering processes to waste-conscious production, we believe that designing for the future means considering what we leave behind.

03

Made for This Place

The strength of Italian design tradition lies in uniqueness — the ability to combine craft with refined aesthetics. We carry that ethos into every Sydney home we work in, adapting European design language to Australian light, space, and lifestyle.

Our quest is not novelty for its own sake. It is the pursuit of design where creativity merges with functionality, where aesthetics are conveyed in the details, and where every element serves the life lived within.

Creativity, Intuition,
Curiosity, Optimism.

These are the qualities that have defined Italian furniture-making for generations. We bring that same restless pursuit of excellence to every wardrobe, every cabinet, and every fitted interior we produce.

We do not follow trends. We design joinery for the life of the building, not the life of a fashion. Good joinery should still look right in thirty years — and still work flawlessly.

Every choice we make is a footprint that endures over time. From the timber we select to the hardware we specify, sustainability is not a marketing position — it is a design decision.

Our Process

How a Commission Unfolds

01

Initial Consultation

We meet at our showroom or at your home. We assess the space, listen to your brief, and establish a scope — at no cost and with no obligation.

02

Design & Proposal

We produce detailed drawings and a fixed-price proposal. Materials, finishes, and hardware are all specified. You review, refine, and approve.

03

Workshop Fabrication

Your approved design goes into production. Precision-cut panels, fitted hardware, quality-checked finishes. We keep you updated throughout.

04

Installation & Handover

Our own team fits your joinery to a confirmed schedule. We protect your surfaces, work cleanly, and walk you through everything at handover.
